Install the package you received

  1. Open the .vsix from the invite email. This page has no file. In VS Code, open Extensions, choose the … menu, then Install from VSIX… and select that file.
  2. Reload the window if prompted. Open a local folder or git repository to try your first task.
  3. Run AI Orchestra: Open Chat from the Command Palette, or use Ctrl+Alt+O (Cmd+Alt+O). Type /settings to add a provider key and assign a Drafter. Follow the first-session guide to add a Reviewer.
Local chat works without an AI Orchestra account or a formal Project. An account is needed for Vault cloud storage. Both the Web Chat Workspace and VS Code extension run directly with your own API keys. The extension keeps provider keys in VS Code's encrypted secret storage. The web app keeps them in this browser, where they are not encrypted, or, if you turn it on, in your Key Vault as ciphertext we cannot read. The extension makes no inference proxy calls. When you use Server Proxy (paid plans, or a free account for a provider that blocks browser calls), your key passes through our server for that request and is not stored.
